This group is for people who love to ride bicycles, and are bicycle enthusiasts. We will be posting valuable information on Facebook and our blog about bicycle safety tips. We ride our bicycles in West Kendall around the Miccosukee Golf Course located on 6401 Kendale Lakes Drive Miami, FL 33183
The golf course bicycle lane is 4.2 miles of a circular roadway and very safe to ride your bicycle. One lane is designated for vehicular traffic and the other lane is designated for bicycles.
If you enjoy riding bicycles around the golf course then we need your help in getting Miami Dade Public Works to clean up the streets with their street sweeper. We are experiencing a lot of glass from broken bottles on the bicycle lane, and people are doing it intentionally to endanger the safety of bicycle riders. We want a safe community for all who love to ride bicycle around this beautiful golf course. We ride daily Tues-Fri in the early morning hours 7:15A-10:00A and early mornings on the weekends 7:15A-10:30A. We ride at speeds of 12-18 miles per hour. All bicyclists are welcome to join no matter what type of bicycle you ride. If you are visiting Miami and want to ride bicycle with us send me a message, and we will coordinate a ride with you. We meet in the county parking lot which is directly across from the Miccosukee Golf Club Office. We usually don't ride on Monday's.
I encourage all of you to send an email to district11@miamidade.gov and let them know that we need Miami Dade Public Works to step up their cleaning efforts with the street sweeper and garbage around the golf course. It's a matter of pride for our community!!!
